END THE VIOLENCE AND THE SILENCE, DEMAND JUSTICE NOW!

I'm a victim of domestic violence. Most recently my abuser, with whom we share a common child, had made a disturbing comment.. he said and I quote "I own you." Unquote. This isn't the first kind of comment that has been made, things like "I will make sure you end up dead with nothing", "I'm praying on your downfall", and "b**ch is gonna get hers" (meaning retaliatory abusive conduct). My abuser also conspired with a group of other related individuals all of whom had a part in using mine and my children's information to commit tax fraud, refund theft, cybercrime, mail fraud, bank fraud, perjury, willful deprivation. All of which resulted in the loss of my job, my home, my children, all of my belongings. I ended up living in my car for the next year after this happened (2017). Before all that, my abuser had committed violence against me and disrespect/desecration of my, at the time (2015) recently deceased fathers ashes by breaking open the container which contained my dad's ashes and were emptied all over me and my kitchen/front room. That incident resulted in my improper arrest and (dismissed) charge of aggravated battery and I had to pay an $800 fine. It was the first time I had went to jail, been in handcuffs, or a charge on my record. After 16 hours in jail I had to go home and sweep my dad up off my floor. I no longer have any of his ashes because what I had kept was in the storage that was auctioned off after the tax fraud stuff. I couldn't keep up with the payments. February 2017 he was arrested for aggravated bodily harm/strangulation against me, but the charges were dismissed. May of 2017 he came to my home and after a disagreement about our child he then grabbed my head and bit me on my face which left his entire dental imprint on my face. A friend who saw the injury was concerned reported it. That's when dcfs and my local PD showed up the day I'm supposed to be out of my home (because of an eviction stemming from the fraud situation) questioning me. "We can't help you if you won't let us..." So even after making a 3 page written statement, NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. they didn't even investigate the tax fraud after I had reported it. He hasn't been held accountable for anything he's done to me or the trauma that it caused to my children. Currently, we have a pending custody case. The courts have denied any and all of my rights and have refused to provide any relief that I am entitled to. There are numerous violations of rules of procedure in my case. And the current judge has went so far as to threaten me by saying that it is me who is not acting in the best interests of my child and that if I do not follow the order that I will be put in jail and he will give my abuser custody of our child. I cannot find anyone that will help me, especially if I don't have the money to pay to get the services I desperately need. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Change needs to happen and it needs to happen now!!! There are a lack of resources available in my area and an even bigger lack of probono/legal representation assistance for civil matters such as this. My petition is for changes in the courts with helping to provide free or court paid compensation for civil litigation attorney services for representing victims of crime and violence in noncriminal court proceedings and in custody cases that involve domestic violence. So that it will also strengthen the judicial system with regards to lessening the chance of judicial misconduct while also protecting the rights of such persons who require it in order to avoid future harm and to strengthen protection of such individuals and their families without having to go through lengthy unnecessary court proceedings.
