Stop the Exorbitant Fines for Expired Parking Meters in San Francisco

San Francisco's parking violations fines are among the highest in the nation.
San Francisco collected $41.5 million in parking meters revenues
in 2011 and that number is likely to increase as SFMTA will now be enforing parking meters in Sundays.
Citations are not supposed to be a source of revenue. They are supposed to be a DETERRENT!

As residents and taxpayers of San Francisco we believe that the SFMTA and the City of San Francisco are using parking meters as a source of revenue and not as a detterent to poor parking behavior.
The SFMTA needs to be accountable to all the citizens of San Francisco. We need a balanced, unbiased municipal transportation policy.
We respectfully request that the Mayor and District Supervisors immediately request that the SFMTA:
1. Reduce the fines for parking meters.

2. Reduce the fines for street cleaning.
3. Does not enforce Sunday parking meters.
