Virginia: No Parental Rights for Rapists!

About 33 states have created legislation to protect mothers whose children were conceived as a result of sexual assault. Virginia still allows their rapists to seek parental rights, custody and visitation rights, leaving mothers vulnerable to costly and emotionally traumatic legal battles.

The experience of rape is traumatic enough without allowing rapists to use children as pawns to further harass and intimidate the mothers. With one-third of rape victims choosing to raise their children, they should be left in peace if they don't wish to share custody with or communicate with their rapists.

Please sign the petition to urge Virginia to create legislation to prevent rapists from seeking parental rights!

We, the undersigned, are concerned with the lack of protections against rapists seeking parental rights in Virginia.
