WE WILL NOT RECREATE CHARLOTTESVILLE

To whom it may concern (more specifically meant to reach SF mayor Ed Lee and the SFPD),
My name is Sybella Garces, a Bay Arean native and supervising barista for Starbucks so that should give me little credibilty as a representative to our politicians, I know, but I've lived my entire 19 years here in our beloved peninsula with my grandfather Luis Guel, a recognized purple heart, bronze star veteran, whos rendition of the Aztec Calendar is hung in the Mayfair Community Center, San Jose present day. (Shout Out Cousin Lya for making it happenđź’•) His 87th birthday will be taking place August 25th. None of this truly matters anymore however to our growing and advancing population and thats okay, as an individual, I don't need them to. I need you to.
As a Bay Arean, as a daughter and as a human being with internet access, I know most of the population has heard by now of recent events occurring in Charlottesville, Virginia. Now there is talk of a second round of rally/protest to be had here in our San Francisco on August 26th. No matter what side of the spectrum we fall on in light of these events, we all align on one key point; Safety.
The Bay Area for about a century now has been haven to all from pirates on the Barbary Coast to veterans looking for a place to raise their family to lovers fighting for their relationship to be accepted. All I can ask is that you not take this haven away from us. Politely decline this inquiry to host and let's set an example for our country that a dollar sign won't change our morals. We're the Bay Area, we accept 'em all but we need to stop short of ensuing chaos in our cities by inviting the very people who were fled from.
My proposal is not to make anyone unwelcome but a plea for you Mayor Ed Lee and our SFPD to make this a safe event. And a reminder that no event congregated in hate will remain safe for a long period of time. Thank you so much for your time.
