Save the Colonial Lady

  • by: Patricia Jahn

Undoubtedly, any one that's ever lived in Flint,MI has been to Colonial Coney Island, either for late after the bar breakfast,or early morning coffee on the regular. The Iconic Colonial lady has been standing in the same spot on Corunna Rd since I was a little girl.As an adolesent,I started working there, and contiued to work there on and off for 12 years along with several of my friends and family!! Everyone loves her,she is a Flint Michigan Icon!! Isn't it bad enough that we've lost all of our shops(hence,Vehicle City)and our economy continues to crash, our city is in peralls, and you want to help destroy it even further? What will you do with her??We the people of Flint and the surrounding areas ask that if you must remove her, please DO NOT DESTROY HER!!! There has to be somewhere that she can live out the rest of her days,as we continue to rebuild Downtown, there has to be some where to accomadate her.........
