Demand all autonomous taxis have crime detecting sensors and on board human handlers at all times

Ride service companies like Uber and Lyft are currently in a autonomous vehicle race! Where they are trying to make all their vehicles fully autonomous! This is because they feel removing the driver from the equation will help them save money! Well it may be true that "Uber bot" wouldn't have living expenses like a human driver does! No wife and kids at home to support! Doesn't need to eat! Or have a home besides the Uber central parking garage! Where on site charging and vehicle maintenance and repair stations meets all of the Uber bot's "feeding" and "medical" needs! All in a state of the art secured garage facility that meets all of the Uber bot's housing and personal safety and security needs! The company saves money by not having to pay all those drivers! Which enables the company to charge the consumer less; and still make a hefty enough profit! But what about us? The costumer! Well some people may argue removing the human driver eliminates the possibility of a human driver attacking you! There are many cases where that human driver is your life line! Take the case of Keith Avila for example! The Uber driver who rescued a girl from child sex trafficking! Most A.I today still lack sufficient voice and word recognition to monitor a vocal conversation in the car's cabin; to recognize such signs of child sex trafficking in progress! The way Avila did! Then there was the yet unnamed Uber driver; who was at the right place at the right time; to be what those NRA folks would call "the good guy with a gun" single handedly stopping a mass shooting! Unless that Uber bot is a fully armed K.I.T.T.; that Uber bot won't have the means to stop a shooting like that! If you are a child sex trafficking victim; that autonomous car won't hear your cries for help! It won't recognize that you are in trouble! And the pimps know this! You give them the option of calling an unmanned autonomous vehicle; they will take it! So as to remove that opportunity for the girls to be rescued! And they will pay extra for it too! So passing a law requiring the companies to charge more for the self driving car; not only won't be likely to pass; because of the money saving benefits of self driving cars; which all Uber costumers will demand their fare share of! It won't save a single sex trafficking victim; because the pimp won't mind paying the extra money; for the autonomous car that won't know what he is up to with that girl! But it will save such people in distress; to require all such autonomous taxis to first of all be equipped with A.I that is smart enough; and linguistically and sensory equipped enough; to recognize all such signs of human distress! And to have the communication equipment needed; to alert authorities to the situation as it unfolds! It will also help to require the autonomous taxis to have an armed human handler on board; to intervene in violent situations as needed! (And also in the event the A.I system is compromised; or simply goes bad! to manually disable the A.I and take over driving as needed!) Well this may seem counter productive in our modern world of innovation; and always looking for ways to cut costs and increase profits! The safety and well-being of the costumer must always come first! And don't forget even many corporate leaders like Elon Musk say these autonomous vehicles will always need on board human handlers! Because as we give these A.I computers more and more power over our lives; there will be an ever increasing threat of a "rise of the machines" scenario! Where these artificially intelligent machines turn against us! And if you don't have someone on hand who can physically stop those machines; people will die! And even if A.I never reaches levels where it can rise up against us on it's own! Hackers can already get in to a car's computer system and make it do all kinds of horrible things! So even though Elon is leading the way in automotive innovation; including bringing autonomous self driving vehicles to the market! I have no doubt he would be amongst the loudest voices demanding a law requiring all self driving taxis to have human handlers!
