Untenable statements about invention cost the hang gliding community in many ways. That a bully with untenable statements could effect false claims over hang gliding mechanical invention in the F.A.I. merit system hurts the attractiveness of our sport to inventors. Such leads to loss of talent applied to hang glider design. Such does injustice to the history of hang glider mechanics. John Worth differently showed the subject mechanics which had already been in public domain. The F.A.I.'s low threshold for accuracy on global invention should be changed soon.
Dear President of the F.A.I.,
Please alter the F.A.I. awards to reflect that the four-boom flex-wing hang glider with weight-shift control and cable-stayed triangle control frame was already in the public domain by the end of 1962.
Thank you for caring about our hang glider sport in its global-invention space. Such change will help attract inventors who may be offended by inaccurate merit declarations.
Lift,
Petitioners
