They are culling the urban Mule Deer. Because of damage to shrubs and trees in people's yards. The other issue is people won't allow the bow hunters to retrieve the deer they have shot; if they roam onto their property. The problem with this is they will have to let the police officers shoot the deer whether on their property or not. It makes more sense to have the animal be used for food than be killed in lieu of shrubs and taken to the dump. There are a lot of people who love the deer, their favorite part of living here. Their voices are not being heard. Senseless killing has got to stop. We are killing so many animals for the wrong reasons. Please help save the dignity of these beautiful animals they are worth more than shrubs. Thank you so much!
Dear City of Cody,
I started this petition to get signatures to help back me in my efforts to stop the procedings to cull the Urban Mule Deer of Cody, WY.
I have noticed the decline in the population of the deer in the last year, and I believe killing 50 of them would wipe them out completely.
I believe with the status of the World today is wrong to disregard or disrespect the integrity of the animalsworth that live among us. The decline and complete extiction of so many animals have come about from this way of thinking. Please don't let our City be one that kills animals for basically no good reason.
The Bible commands us to take care of the animals under our care. One of the signs of a righteous man, is that he takes care of his animals (Proverbs 12:10). In fact the Bible says we must never treat any part of God's Creation with contempt. When that happens we are indirectly we are indirectly treating our Creator with contempt. Instead, God calls us to be trusted of his Creations.
Please lets keep Cody clean of this wrong doing to these deer. It would be best to let them be for food. They were put here for that reason. Not to be killed for no reasonl.
Please reconsider this decision to cull these deer!!
