To Star Packing Co.,

As you know, six cows escaped your slaughterhouse in St. Louis Missouri on March 30, 2017. These animals escaped your slaughterhouse due to fear, sensing that their lives were in danger. They evaded local police for several hours, unsure of their destination but knowing that they did NOT want to return to your slaughterhouse. We understand that they have been recaptured and returned to your custody.

Your company would take a financial loss if you were to surrendor these cattle to safety. However, we request that you please surrender them to Farm Sanctuary as an act of good faith. These animals fought for their freedom and they represent the miniscule percentage of the animals who are ever able to escape the confines of the slaughter industry. We sign this petition because we believe they have earned their right to live out the remainder of their lives in sanctuary.

In 2016, 4.6 billion animals were slaughtered in the U.S. alone (The Humane Society of the United States). We ask that you graciously spare these six lives.

Update #26 years ago
The media/protest event was canceled this morning. A successful transfer was made and all 6 cows are making their way to temporary foster before heading to The Gentle Barn. A new link has been added to the petition comments box which will offer the most up-to-date information from rescue organizers Nicole and Adam. Thank you for your support and helping us raise awareness for these animals. ~TH
