Stop the Slaughter of Alberta's Wild Horses

Wild horses in Alberta are being slaughtered. We can't stand by and let this continue!

Currently, the province allows capture permits to deal with the wild horse population. What happens once the horses are captured is not known, though it's likely they are slaughtered.

Wild horses, relating back to European settlers, have been living in Alberta for decades. Currently ranchers are pushing for a mass cull. They claim that the animals are damaging crops and ecosystems, but those claims have yet to be scientifically proven. Meanwhile, horses are dying by the hundreds.

The Wild Horses of Alberta Society are working with the government and the ranchers to understand the issue and work towards a solution. Please sign below to support this key research and demand that the Government of Alberta stop the slaughter of wild horses!

Dear Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development,

We the undersigned support ongoing research and review of the impact that Alberta's wild horses have on the landscape.  We do not support the slaughter of these animals as a method to control them.

The senseless killing of these horses is unjust and we will not stand by and watch while wild animals are killed for no apparent reason.

We encourage you to conduct a sound investigation and to work with the ranchers and landowners to come up with a sustainable solution.

Sincerely,
Concerned Canadians
