Ban Shark Fishing Near Beaches Leading to Attacks in NC

Officials in the North Carolina area believe that the recent and frequent shark attacks are highly due to nearby shark fishing. Of course, such a sport will entice these predators closer to shore and such luring of the sharks is a probable cause leading to the attacks.

Presently, this fishing is permitted on North Carolina beaches and piers and we are urging that North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries consider banning this type of fishing in this area as it is at several other popular beach destinations on the East Coast. Such fishing is leading to many serious injuries due to these frisky predators.

This is a time of frequent beach goers and people should not be so fearful of a fun time when they have to fear danger so close to shore. Whether fishing is to blame or not, why bring these animals any closer to human encounters by luring them in. Help us to stop this practice by signing and sharing this petition to stop shark fishing anywhere near beaches and piers close to human interactions.

North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries – You may not feel that shark fishing is to blame for the recent shark attacks but it only makes sense that luring the predators through baiting of course brought them in closer to short than they normally may not be. Too many attacks have been occurring and we encourage a ban on shark fishing in or near any NC beaches or biers that could and is frequented by humans, especially at times of normal swimming fun and vacations. Keep such fishing way out to sea where there is no danger of human interaction and protect the beaches by banning any such fishing of sharks.
