I had an opportunity to speak with our private Health Insurance provider who are located in Quebec. The discussion was regarding Medical Cannabis & why our employer did not have this under it's "prescribed coverage" list. I was shocked to find out that the Provincial Health Plan for Quebec, the parallel to our OHIP in Ontario does cover medical cannabis. OHIP is not covering it and it can be expensive for somebody who relies on the covered Opiates in their private plan to switch to Cannabis instead. Opiates are a huge concern throughout Canada & if OHIP were to cover Medical Cannabis for people seeking relief from chronic &/or temporary severe pain such as myself there would be no need for using the highly addictive Opiates. Please help us make this a reality by signing & forwarding this petition to your contacts, the higher the numbers, the better chance of OHIP listening to us.
