The police are looking for the person or persons who just abandoned their dog in a crate in freezing weather in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. You know the type of winter we have all experienced this year. How can anyone purposely and knowingly leave the animal, without a way to get away even to find any shelter or help and allow it to die in such a cruel manner?? And the cops want to just charge these perpetrators with littering? Are you kidding? An animal died that may have lived a normal life with proper care! When found, these people should be charged with no less than a felony for animal abuse, cruelty, neglect and abandonment!!!!
The officers are considering the littering charge if the animal died of natural causes but position of the dog suggests it died in that crate, curled up, trying to keep itself as warm as possible. In freezing temps, these are in no way natural causes!!
This darling black and tan dog was found upside down in snow-covered brush about 100 feet off Cummings Creek Road in Farmington Township. His body is being held at the Animal Care Sanctuary until a doctor can perform a necropsy for cause of death and away past abuse on the animal. The person or persons who did this to this poor defenseless animal must be held accountable for his actions; not for littering but for the actual abuse on this dog, a felony with strict punishment as much as permitted by law.

The Tioga County and Farmington Township, PA Law Enforcement – You need to continue your investigation on a dog that was found abandoned in its crate and frozen to death!! It is deplorable that you are considering charging the perpetrator of littering??!! It is not littering by abandoning a dog, in a crate, defenseless and left to die, which it did! This is clearly a case of animal cruelty, abuse, abandonment and neglect! Find this guy and please charge at least with a felony with fines and jail time! This poor animal did not deserve to die this way and if a person can do this to this animal, the abuse will not stop there!!
