Investigate & Promote More Diligent Care at Veteran Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System

It is quite disturbing to think that a veteran was near a facility with a broken foot but could not get required help and medical assistance. That is what allegedly happened to Donald Siefken, 64, who was stranded right outside of the Veteran Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System.

We are asking for a full investigation into the allegations to ensure that that, if true, something like this incident never occurs again. Mr. Siefken was unable to walk the extra 10 feet to get into the emergency room of the hospital but when calling for assistance, he was instructed to call 911 (only to be hung up on.) The man states “My pain level was a 10 on a scale of 10. And they just hung up on me.”

We are encouraging U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert A. McDonald to do a thorough investigation in this case to ensure that any and all other patients are handled and cared for in a timelier manner. No one should endure the pain and suffering that Vet Mr. Siefken went through. Help us in our efforts through this petition by signing and sharing it in the name of all vets and other patients.

US Secretary of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert A. McDonald – Please do a thorough investigation into the delay of care that brought vet Siefken stranded in a parking lot right outside of the hospital because he could not get the immediate help he needed. If the investigation verifies that there was a faulty process, please make changes to your protocol and regulations so that such an incident does not occur again. Guarantee that this hospital will provide the best and quickest service as needed by anyone ailing and needing assistance.
