The Muppets: Re-Releases

In 2011 Disney released The Muppets which reinvigorated the classic characters for a new generation. The movie heavily empathized on the original Muppets television show program and was followed by a sequel Muppets Most Wanted due to its success. While not as profitable Most Wanted was considered at least by my understanding to perhaps have a sequel but instead a new abc show that will "...explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, break-ups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires—a more adult Muppet show, for kids of all ages." will air later this year. According to Entertainment Weekly.

As a new fan with the 2011 Jason Segal penned film I am all for this new adaptation but am disappointed that after nearly seven years only three seasons of the original Muppet Show are on dvd. Season's four and five have still not been released along with no available streaming of any seasons on Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, or even blu ray. Instead the only place to see these classics are on youtube or old home video releases. On the Muppets wiki there is a video of the new movies addition Walter who begs Disney to release the remaining two seasons but even after a successful movie inspired by the tv show Disney's The Muppets Studio has not. http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/The_Muppet_Show%3A_Season_Four

Though I have tried to keep a positive outlook on Kermit and the gangs future (this show in many ways is an answer to those prayers) part of me worries this falls new line up will be another Muppets Tonight attempt (which also-unlike the original programming has not at all been released other than various uploads online). To insure this show has the best chance of success I implore people view the new show when it airs but to also sign this petition to Disney specifically The Muppets Studio subsidiary of the company. So they know how much it means- to give fans more than just most of the movies and little else of Jim Henson's non Sesame Street creations. This petition is not just for the 70's show whole release on dvd, but on all other formats, along with Muppets Tonight, and all other programing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Muppets#Filmography

And to Disney please do this to insure a continuing and successful future for Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Walter, and all of the others. Yes even Statler and Waldorf.

Sincerely
