Plastic has, as of recent times, gotten a bad press, with "Blue Planet" bringing awareness to this issue. In 2018, a whale in the sea in Thailand died after eating 80 plastic bags. On September 15th 2018, a video was published online stating that a single piece of plastic can kill a turtle. Researchers found that there was a one in five chance of death for a turtle who consumed just one item of plastic.
According to Ocean Crusaders, 13,000 - 15,000 pieces of plastic are dumped into the ocean every day, with 6.4 million tons of plastic entering the oceans every year. How many more wonderful and important sea creatures will die unnecessarily due to humankind's carelessness, laziness and ignorance?
While good progress has been made, with single-use plastic straws being banned in the UK, restaurants and chains turning against single-use plastic, people seeking to reduce or even eliminate their use of single-use plastic, drastic action still needs to be taken.
Enough is enough! No more animals should die just because of plastic pollution. Please get your butts in gear RIGHT NOW and ban all single-use plastics!!!!!
