In June, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage, making it the law of the land in all states. Since that ruling, two Kentucky court clerks Kim Davis of Rowan County and Casey Davis of Casey County have defied the Supreme Court ruling by refusing to issue marriage licenses. Kim Davis appealed all the way to the Supreme Court who ruled against her on Monday. Tuesday, 9/1/15, she defied the ruling yet again by refusing to issue licenses to gay couples. Her refusal to issue license to all couples both straight and gay is a clear refusal to do the job for which she was hired. She is entitled to her religious beliefs and her faith. She has all the religious freedom in this world, except when it comes to her GOVERNMENT JOB. Religion has no place in government. If she cannot separate her religious beliefs from her job, then she can no longer adequately perform the job she was hired to do and she most be removed. This applies to Mr. Davis as well. Rowan and Casey counties are not religious entities, they are governed by the State of Kentucky, who must abide by ruling of the Supreme Court. Their religious beliefs do not in any was exempt them from doing their job. In fact, their beliefs are hindering them from doing their job. They should be removed from office immediately. Please take the necessary steps to see that these people are removed from the jobs that they can no longer adequately perform.
