Improve Air Quality in Beijing!

Air quality in Beijing the weekend of January 12-13 was so poor that residents were afraid to step outdoors. Pollutants were at 30 to 45 times the safety level, making it the worst weekend on record.

High levels of particulate matter in the city have been cited as a major cause of asthma and respiratory diseases. Cities to the east and south of Beijing have also been reporting severe pollution, and the fog is so dense it has delayed traffic and flights in several areas.

China's massive coal consumption and heavy traffic contribute to its unacceptable air quality. Please sign the petition to convince the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau to create an action plan to bring air quality back to safe levels.
