Please sign and share this petition in an effort to ensure a man in Charlestown, Indiana is punished from openly abusing a tiger cub. This guy at this sanctuary does not deserve to own the facility and "care" for the animals. We need to insist that his license be revoked immediately and be banned from ever owning or caring for any other animals the rest of his life!

It has been noted and reported via video by PETA that a man, Tim Stark in Charlestown, Indiana, who runs the Wildlife in Need sanctuary abusing a baby tiger. His actions on the video showed him hitting a cub after it tries to bite him, and holding it up by the nape of the neck to show visitors what a “[ticked] off tiger looks like” and dropping it in a guest’s lap. In fact, he told that guest and other visitors to “smack it in the nose and tell it ‘no’” if it gets too rambunctious.

The Wildlife in Need sanctuary was organized to rehabilitate and release indigenous wildlife and also to harbor exotic endangered species. However, the mistreatment and abuse of the animals is not proper way to rehabilitate them.

In addition to the abuse, Stark pleaded guilty to illegally trafficking an ocelot and has been cited by the USDA for numerous animal welfare violations, according to a news release from PETA. He was charged with keeping tigers and lions in easily escapable cages, giving bears and tigers dirty water and not providing animals with shelter from the heat. Additionally, last year the wildlife center had no veterinarian and two leopards died from illness.

A PETA spokesperson states that"Encouraging the public to handle vulnerable cubs roughly and to hit them when they resist is cruel. We “PETA rare asking authorities to inspect this outfit immediately, also warning families that the deceitfully named Wildlife in Need is no place to take kids or anyone else who cares about animals.”

This is not typical treatment expected at a sanctuary with the obligation to care for and not mistreat animals. He needs to be out of business and never own, work with or care for animals for the rest of his life. Indiana Law Enforcement, Judicial System & PETA - You need to ensure that Mr. Tim Stark loses his license permanently to run this Wildlife in Need sanctuary because of his abusive, cruelty and mistreatment handling of the animals he is supposed to be caring for. A sanctuary is supposed to be a safe haven for unfortunate animals, not a home to be abused! On top of everything, he is teaching his visitors, including children, that it is okay to smack and hit the animals they are seeing. This guy needs to be shut down, his license revoked and punished severely with a ban that prohibits him permanently from ever owning, caring or handling any other animals, EVER! This guys is a disgrace and does not deserve to be anywhere near those without a voice that rely on him for their well-being!!!
