We are interested in putting in several short segments of beginner-level, kid friendly, natural surface trail in close proximity to the Kinney Run bike path between Apex Park and 6th Ave (as well as a segment between Heritage and Zeta, tying in neighborhoods to the east). Total mileage, between the 6 segments in the current proposal is approximately 1 mile.
As parents of little kids and bike enthusiasts we've often wished for a place in our community where neighborhood children and novice bikers could enjoy and gain comfort and confidence on their bikes. Many of us have visited or lived other places where beginner-level trails are accessible and integrated throughout neighborhoods and we've seen the joy and vibrance that it brings to a community.
Also, we love bikes. Simply put, we think they make the world a better place, and we like sharing that joy with others, but especially with the next generation. We love getting kids outside, on bikes.
If you live in Golden, this Pilot Project, if successful, could mean more connector and beginner-level trails throughout our neighborhoods and surrounding our schools.
