Reduce Alcohol Consumption In Diwali Gala HCMC

Dear Diwali Gala organizers,

Diwali is an important festival celebrated throughout the world every year. We as childrens enjoy the festival of lights, singing and dancing. However, we have experienced some unpleasant events during the Diwali gala. We as children of the Indian community in HCMC, hereby humbly request Diwali Gala organizers to minimize the free flow of alcohol consumption in the upcoming Diwali Gala 2014.

As observed in the past few Diwali celebrations, many people had excess alcohol consumption resulting in misbehavior, violence and starting to abuse the event to the extent that police had to be called to calm a pious festival of India. This set a bad example for kids like us, our siblings and our guests. This also made the non indians visitors think that all Indians are drunkards. This can spread a bad word about our nation, India.

We could suggest ways to minimize free flow of alcohol. You can put a small fee after the third glass of alcohol. Another way to minimize free flow of alcohol is that in the starting of the event, we all childrens will line up together and request to minimize alcohol to minimize uncivil public behavior.

We hope you understand how we feel, and will take definite necessarily steps to make the upcoming Diwali gala pleasant and enjoyable to all.
