Our HOA board is overstepping their boundaries

I believe our HOA board is missing the mark. "Accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can"; I'm attempting to change what I can.

After 11 years we continue to go above the call of duty to maintain our 4000ft2 lot for the benefit of property values. We were surprised that even after appeal our HOA is making us remove the piece in question.

Our board's cited/referenced defense, "No lot shall be maintained as a dumping ground for rubbish, trash, garbage, and other waste shall be kept only in a clean and sanity condition. No trash, refuse, pile, vehicles, underbrush, or other unsightly growth or objects shall be allowed to group, accumulate or remain on any LOT. All trash and other debris shall be removed from all landscaped and paved areas. All, trash, garbage and yard waste shall be kept in suitable covered containers, and shall be stored out of sight expect on trash collection days." Our HOA CCR's also allow the board to distinguish what is "trash" or not.

I've since gone back and forth between the ease of compliance and addressing an issues. I've put the piece in the garage sheepishly (for "easy" sake and to avoid a $200 fine), but realizing I shouldn't and to fight the board's decision.
