Urge Wisconsin to Stop Animal Cruelty With Animal Cruelty Registry

Facts have shown that there is a critical connection between domestic violence and animal abuse.  Often times, animals are used as pawns by abusers, to manipulate or control its owner.  In many other circumstances, animals are seen as objects without feelings that can be used and abused! Read more on such abuse as a concern in the state of Wisconsin at https://asci.uvm.edu/equine/law/cruelty/wi_cruel.htm & http://www.wihumane.org/advocacy/laws/animal-abuse-violence.

The Humane Society in Wisconsin has created programs to help children and animals within family and domestic violence.  A crucial step in protecting animal victims of abuse is to create and implement an animal cruelty registry that is similar in stature to that of a sex offenders and child abusers database.  I propose such a registry that would require anyone guilty of any type of animal abuse, cruelty and neglect to be placed on this database, requiring that it be updated on a regular basis.  Additionally, these abusers need to be banned from future pet ownership or ever working with or caring for them for a lifetime.  The database should then be shared with all breeders, shelters, pet shops and others in the pet industry as a mandatory resource.

Those persons who abuse animals are rarely held accountable for their crimes and often repeat their offenses against other defenseless beings.  Help me and my efforts by signing and sharing this petition, adding your own ideas, thoughts and comments in protecting those without a voice.
