Please sign and share this petition nationwide in an effort to get local legislators to put a ban on the use of pesticides and killers for rodents in areas where lions roam in the Los Angeles Griffith Park. Other animals too are affected by the poisonous substances, leading to severe illness and deaths.

Ecologists have been tracking certain animals for years, in the Los Angeles Griffith Park area, only to note one of them suddenly became horribly ill. They stated that "It was hard, too bad to see him sick like that." They noted that he not only was suffering with mange but also seem to be in bad shape due to exposure to rat poison.

"Back in 2004, we had two mountain lions that also died, just like the coyotes were dying, of bleeding to death internally from rodenticide poisoning. Interestingly, those two mountain lions also had mange. They didn't have it as badly as the bobcats get it before they died of it." The ecologists continues, "The bigger thing to take into consideration is the fact that so many rodenticides, first- and second-generation, are available to the general public on the shelves at Home Depot and Lowe's, and you have to remember, Griffith Park is surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of homes."

A bill has been proposed that would ban the use of these rodenticides in state and national parks throughout the state of California. A solution is desperately needed regarding the excess rodent infestation without it hurting and killing other four-legged creatures that deserve a good, healthy life in their habitats. Please sign and share this petition nationwide in an effort to get local legislators to put a ban on the use of pesticides and killers for rodents in areas where lions roam in the Los Angeles Griffith Park. Legislators in California - There has got to be better, safer methods of ridding the rats in your area state and national parks aside from using rodenticides that are hazardous to the health of other animals roaming the area. Too many of the wrong animals are being affected, causing them great illness and sometimes death. Ban the use of rodenticides in all of your state and national parks and protect the animals that belong there.
