SIGN TO SAVE COMMUNITY, ANIMALS & PRESERVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

Signing this petition will show your support to protect our neighborhood from the demolition of original 1930's structures, prevent families from being evicted from their homes, protect local trees and wildlife, and will protect rescue animals from losing their rescue location. Signing sends the message to Council that you are in support of preserving our existing neighborhood & community and against over-sized out of character over populated condos.

Our street Hermitage includes some of the oldest and last remaining original strucutres in Valley Village.  This property has been the nucleus of the neighborhood since 1934 and has continued to serve it's community for nearly a century.

Update as of July 4:  We just got word the developer that wants to demolish the property will be attending the neighborhood council meeting on July 8, 2015 to request approval.  If we could get at least 2000 signatures by then, I know it will make a difference!!   Please share.

Update as of July 14:  Community pushback and petitions work!  At a local Neighborhood Council meeting last week this petition was well received.  We are so grateful to those that have taken a second to sign and we continue to ask for your support to share this petition and getting the word out there.  Our next Neighborhood Council meeting is July 22.  If we could show up there with double or more signtaures, it would make a strong point.  We have already gotten word that developers are starting to back off because of how much community pushback there is on this.   Thank you all so much for your continued efforts and support.               Lets see what more can do!

Thank you so much!

To The Mayor of Los Angeles, our City Councilman and to our Neighborhood Council,

Our existing structures are the roots of our neighborhood.  They represent to our community periods of time that help link us to the present.  Long time local residents occupy these structures and are active members in the community.  5303 specifically serves its community by means of education, vegetable gardens, shelter for locally rescued animals, is depended on for food by residents and local habitat. There are approximately a dozen mature trees on the property alone that are also relied upon by our community and wildlife.
