Horses for years have been used for plenty of help, such as transportation, hauling, planting, or just the pleasure of having a friend there. For years, race horses have been slaughtered for no purpose other than the fact that they are old or injured.
It has been said that many of these injuries could be heeled in the matter of 3 months, but they are still put down because of POSSIBLE rest-of-life side affects. Instead of this slaughtering, we could find new ways, such as putting them out to the pasture and in a paddock on a loving person's ranch.
This new video goes to show just what they plan to do. They say horses are just livestock, not companions. I say the only reason why they go into business is because they want money and horse races are paying them to open to discard any unwanted horses.
Did you know that when a mare has a foal, the foal is immediately taken away to a special mare that is bred to be used to take care of the new race foals? Then her foal/foals *If twins* are taken away and thrown out the door to die, where, luckily, people come in and rescue them, making formulas to try to sustain these poor little souls.
