STOP THE BARBARIC TREATMENT OF ANIMALS AT SAMUTPRAKARN CROCODILE FARM AND ZOO

We Petition in an effort to bring an end to the outdated and barbaric treatment of animals at Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo, we believe it is not necessary to use wildlife to put on shows for people we also want the welfare of these animals to be monitored and the foul conditions improved, the owners should understand that a much more successful business plan would be one of conservation, education and animal care.

In Thaïland, the land of the free. Buddhism teaches us the concept of Ahimsa, that is to remain non-violent and in constant awe in front of life’s expression, it is also an act of merit to nurture and take care of sentient beings wellbeing. Nature gave us enough intelligence and skill to do this. We have to ban such insane behaviors that take place at Samutprakarn Zoo. The Animal Kingdom deserves to be respected and treated with infinite respect, as sentient beings gifted of intelligence and sensitivity. Like us. Instead of this, animals are forcefully withdrawn from their habitat then reduced to slaves and monsters. Elephants are being forced into acrobatics seven times a day. Monkeys are being dressed as human beings and wear make-up five times a day. A hundred thousand crocodiles serve as a touristic attraction before being turned into a skin trade. Mr. Utai Youngprapakorn is portrayed as a man who diligently saved crocodiles from extinction, 56 years ago. How merry and kind of him to finally turn them into a profitable skinning industry. I wonder which is worst, to go extinct or being saved for further multi-generational slaughtering. Aren’t we losing a part of our human dignity along the way? Perpetuating such backward and tyrannical treatments on animals for the sake of easy money and international business is really a shame that puts our planet equilibrium and diversity at stake. Species that doesn’t represent any economic interest are being irremediably lost because of human blindness and active ignorance. The treatment of these prisoners while alive is barbaric and unworthy of any sentient being. Let’s not forget about the group of bears swimming in an opaque pool in a near neurasthenic state, waiting for food to be tossed at them. Felines are being held in tiny cages, witnessing their own lives being stolen away from them, just to be spotted by self-indulging tourists. This Zoo is gladly raising funds upon these noble spirits and innocent beings. They advertise and trap the customer by saying it’s a near nature habitat, but it’s in fact a near hell industry where the advertised fun only comes from abrupt torturer's . 7 days a week 12 hours a day.
