Demanding A Decrease In The Speed Limit On Mimosa Lane, Huntsville, Texas

DOES A CHILD NEED TO DIE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE?

Residents of the area have seen children nearly being hit, animals run over, and other property damaged due to the hazardous speed limit. Many families have small children living on Mimosa Lane. Most homes on the street are located no more than 30 feet from the street, while others are even closer to the road. The current speed limit is posted at 30mph with the only sign located at the beginning of the street. THIS IS WAY TO FAST FOR THIS STREET!
If a driver is going 30mph on a 5 yard wide street, there is no place for correction or time for stopping if and when a small child decided to chase after a ball in the street. The traffic on this street is above the average street traffic for a cul-de-sac street. If two drivers are passing each other in opposite directions, one of the drivers must make way through a small portion of ditch, leaving no room for a pedestrian.

Residents of Mimosa Lane are demanding that the current speed limit for this road be lowered to 15 miles per hour and to have speed panels put out.  If you live in Huntsville, Texas or just want to share your voice, please join in this endeavor to save a life and protect our children and families.

CAUTION!!
