National Female MC Day!

Female MCs are a mainstay presence in arts and culture. They generate millions of dollars in revenue and are extremely influential. Unfortunately, they don't get the widespread attention they lack as a whole. There is a rich history beginning in 1977 that exist from the first female mc/rapper to the first female to operate a record label. Although the heavy hitters like Queen Latifah, Lil' Kim, Missy Elliot, and newcomers such as Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are paid to promote brands, many outside of that realm of financial backing go unnoticed. Our solution to that is in the recognition of all female mcs across the nation for the fifth day of of January. Radio stations can play all music by the females, commercial time can be allotted by television executives, and fundraising can take place to raise money for charity organizations like The International Association of Female MCs who support the educational pursuits of women and girls.
