Tell CBS to Stop Exploiting Wild Animals!

CBS' new series Zoo follows a series of mysterious and fictional wild animal attacks against humans around the world. A concerned animal rights organization reached out to CBS representatives, who reportedly promised to do everything they could to limit the use of live wild animals on the show.

In a new Times Picayune report, though, Zoo's executive producer Michael Katleman is quoted saying the production “had been going for real whenever it could.”

Zoo's use of real lions on the show recalls HBO's use of real race horses on their ill-fated series Luck. HBO cancelled the series after only nine episodes due to the tragic deaths of three horses. Even if CBS follows safety precautions perfectly, it is safer to use CGI graphics than real lions.

CGI graphics are now so advanced that viewers won't notice the absence of real lions. Please urge CBS to use CGI over real animals whenever possible!

We, the undersigned, are concerned with CBS' plans to use real lions on the series Zoo. As you know, an animal rights organization reached out to CBS representatives, who reportedly promised to do everything they could to limit the use of live wild animals on the show.

In a new Times Picayune report, though, Zoo's executive producer Michael Katleman is quoted saying the production “had been going for real whenever it could.”

CGI graphics are now so advanced that viewers won't notice the absence of real lions. We respectfully urge you to use CGI over real animals whenever possible. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
