We Need to Change the Florida State Song!

We need to be progressive and continue to better our society!

Our current State Song "Old Folks at Home" (Swanee River) was a song told in the perspective of a Slave working at a Plantation.

Our State changed a few lyrics like changing Darkies to Brothers, but this is still not enough.

The song has changed once before, our original State Song was "Florida, My Florida" up until 1935.

Change is normal and now it must change again!

I propose we return to "Florida, My Florida" as we continue to fight moving past our dark side of history and progressing to a better future!

Our history must never be forgotten, but we must progress and better our community we love.
