The Medford Police Advisory Committee will be meeting next Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Medford City Hall, at 4:30pm in the Medford Room on the 3rd floor. The City Council is waiting to hear from this committee before they proceed with the Pit Bull ban. The City Council of Medford, OR, is proposing a potential ban on pit bulls. But this ban is not the solution for preventing incidents in which an animal acts aggressively. It's not pit bulls as a breed who are the problem, but their owners. Dog owners whose animals act aggressively towards other animals must face stricter penalties. A ban on pit bulls unfairly discriminates against them.
