The super rich must love the crisis.
2009 - 973 billionaires - together net worth: 2.4 trillion $
2010 - 1011 billionaires - together net worth: 3.5 trillion $
2011 - 1210 billionaires - together net worth: 4.5 trillion $

Excessive individual wealth is the main cause of today’s crisis. Behind the walls of banks and corporations there are people. They control governments all over the world because they have loads of money. Money = power. So how do we break that power? Enforce a law to prevent people from becoming too rich: the Individual Wealth Ceiling. Determine an amount of money corresponding to all possessions one person can have at the most. Everything above it flows back to the community. Even if we apply a ceiling of 1 billion $ on the 1210 billionaires in the world, it would result in a return to the community of 3,432 trillion $. Imagine what a ceiling of 10 million $ can do… We need to set an amount that is reasonable for all parties. Entrepreneurs still have to be rewarded for the risks they take, but there have to be limits. This could be the basis for the new capitalism we’re looking for. Compare the economy with traffic. We need limits to protect ourselves.
Today occupy movements try to change the world. What they need is a simple common objective to shake things up. Protesting against economic and social inequality is not enough. The message is clear, but how can they change the world without structure or leadership. Answer: they have to be united by a strong idea, a tool to achieve more equality.
People want to hear solutions for the mess they’re in, solutions they can understand. So this is our message to everyone who wants to make our world better:
“Be more specific! Don’t fight a wall. Choose a brick and start hammering. Stop yelling: we want economic and social equality! It’s too abstract. Give people a tool to reach that goal, give them an idea they can support, give them a law they can vote for, give them the individual wealth ceiling.” Everyone has to shout the same words during a protest or no one will be heard.
Please help us to spread this idea. Once people realize that excessive individual wealth is absurd, common sense will do the rest.
