Stop this developer from continuing to cut down more ancient trees!

This was a beautiful, mature woodland garden until a developer from Helix Homes came and decimated about 30 trees before he had even received planning permission to build here. He wants to destroy the 18th century cottage and to build as many houses as he can fit on the land.

He also owns an acre of woodland adjacent to this plot which is the site of an ancient brick works and has 2 giant oak trees which are 300 years old. He wants to build on this site too, and if he does he will make a devastating impact on this lovely natural woodland habitat forever.

WHAT WE WANT: to stop him from cutting down any more trees, to prevent him getting planning permission for the 1 acre plot with TPOs, and to build no more than 2 new homes here!

We, the people of Laughton Village, of the surrounding areas and all supporters of our cause, ask that Helix Homes be prevented from being allowed to build on the remaining plot of woodland attached to Chelwood, Pound Lane in Laughton. We ask that this land and its ancient trees and herritage are protected from any building or clearing of trees. We also ask that the Chelwood site which has already been cleared is given planning for no more than 2 new homes and that the 18th century cottage itself is listed and protected.
