NJ resumed bear hunting in 2003 after more than 30 years. Last year 272 bears were killed on this hunt. This year the goal is 800.

12/7/2015 marked the first day with a death toll of 216 bears. 472 bears baited & killed(reported on Nj.com). Pickup trucks carried dead bears to five different weigh stations. These poor animals are being slaughtered. This is not population control you are allowing these animals to be hunted & killed in their homes.

Please tell Governor Christie to change his mind and Stop the slaughtering of innocent bears in NJ. We need signatures quickly to stop this bear hunt in its track. This was supposed to be a week long hunt and there is news that they have extended it.   Please help me sign this petition and let's try to save as many bears as we can this week and stop this hunt in the future.

This petition has been forwarded to Governor Chris Christie, Senator Raymond Lesniak, Senator Rice, Commissioner of Dept of Enviromental Protection, Assemblyman Ralph Caputo & Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker. I have not received any response from any of them.  Please call and sign this petition so we do not get ignored. Killing wildlife should not be legal especially in NJ.
