Often, you may see our beaches have notices of careful of going by the shoreline, don't drink the water, etc. But that image above is plastic and trash in our ocean. That is the North Pacific Gyre. There is no notice on that from our beaches?
There is even plastic and trash in the ocean clustering up to a big point where fish are even confusing it for actual food. Fish are eating this and eating up the chemicals in the plastic!
Basically, nobody in the ocean is benefitting from this, not even other animals breathing in / absorbing the chemicals like crabs or seagulls. and If you're familiar with how erosion and how the water cycle works, this is affecting the entire planet! May not be an oil spill, but this still has that potential of heavily affecting our planet!
Beaches, if you're reading, you should definitely ban the use of plastics and such from our beaches! There are those making an effort to help out with this, and you could, too! You could bring reusable containers and bottles, you could bring nothing, you could help clean up yourself, whatever it may be! the End goal would be to protect our shorelines from plastic! If some beaches are doing this, let's keep this ongoing and for all!
