Limited Breeding of Rabbits

Certain animals are protected under breeding legislation, however no current laws exist to protect the over breeding and irresponsible breeding of Rabbits. This leads to overbreeding in which the breeder cannot properly care for and find suitable homes for the Rabbit's offspring. This often leads to the Rabbit being sent to shelters, many of which are already fully habited.

By signing this petition you are supporting that the UK government introduce new laws that limit the amount of times a single Rabbit can be used to produce offspring, and also new legislation on how these Rabbits are to be kept and cared for.

These are the laws that we want to be introduced:

-All breeders must have a licence that is payable by a annual fee, the proceeds of which ensure that the license is kept and taken seriously

-All breeders must ensure that they do not breed any single Rabbit more than once in its lifetime

-All breeders must ensure that their Rabbits are kept in a clean environment with plenty of living space per Rabbit.

-All breeders must have to be checked prior to any licence being given, that they are aware of responsible methods of breeding, and are aware of the methods to ensure healthy offspring and prevent deformities due to interbreeding
