Save Tamar Way

Haringey Council is considering the full demolition and rebuild of Tamar Way Estate
instead of simply carry on the Decent Homes programme as planned and promised for
several years.

This is something that make no sense, since our homes are lovely, the structure of the building is in good conditions and being built in the mid seventies is not even that old.

Our Estate is a mix of families, elderly people, social tenants and highly respected professionals which form a group of nice people that should be considered a resource for the community.
If demolished, tenants will be relocated, many of which are elderly and have lived for many years on the estate, and leaseholders evicted resulting in many being pushed off the property ladder.

In effect our only mistake in these years has been to trust who said that new windows would come soon and wait patiently for something that didn't happen yet. We never protest, never made any problem to anyone, just patiently wait until we discovered what they really would like to do if we not step up.

That's why we are asking your help. Don't let that yet another good place get destroyed in name of greediness.

We don't want new homes, we just want new windows and fencing. We want the pines pruned and the railing repainted. We want all the little things that we are waiting for years.

We say "No, thanks" to the option of creating new homes in Tamar Way.
We say "Yes, please" to the Decent Home programme as planned, which no one of us asked to stop.
