Because, I don't support the hunting of animals that are not going to be used. I have never heard of any recipe's that require wolf meat, and I am willing to bet money that anyone hunting the wolves, do not need/ nor even know how to make clothing out of a wolf pelt. |

I am so against animal cruelty. I think auctioning off a wolf hunt is a horrible act of cruelty. Why can't people find hobbies that don't have to do with suffering? People think animals are just animals. It is still a life with a beating heart. They have feelings and can feel pain just like anyone. Please ban this cruel act of entertainment. Remember you will one day be judged of how your treat others. |

I'm not a hunter but I do think it is disgusting to auction the lives of animals. I could see it if maybe the animals were posing a danger to people
or if the population of them were causing them to die off all over the place. But that isn't the case here, is it. |

What a disgusting thing to auction off. Hunting in general is disgusting, but to give away these animals' lives to the highest bidder... well it's downright disturbing. Get your priorities straight, humans. Our children's children might like to see these wolves for themselves in the future. |

Aside from the fact that I think auctioning off guided hunts is ridiculous (not to mention that I think _guided_hunts_ not only defeat the purpose of _hunting_, but are un-sportsman-like), there are two good reasons I'm signing this petition.
First, I'm signing this because wolves are natural predators, and a vital part of their ecosystem. The number of natural predators around the world is dwindling, and the population of herbivorous mammals is going up. The world needs these predators to help keep the balance. Without them, animals like deer, mice, rabbits and other "prey" animals will have population explosions to be reckoned with.
Secondly, and apart from the obvious, scientific and sane reasons for protecting predators like the wolf, I am signing this because they are majestic and beautiful creatures, and I have a degree of respect for them that I'm sure a lot of others feel. When I have children, I don't want to have to tell them that all the wolves in the world are extinct, and to be honest, I don't want to have to hear that myself. |

On March 25th, 2001, an eBay.com user posted an auction to sell a "Guided Alaskan Wolf Hunt." The auctions

offered a five day trip guided by Castle Rock Outfitters in Healy Alaska. The auction stated "Hunting is by rifle only and the hunter may take up to 5 wolves on this trip!!"
We find this kind of offer sickening, and a poor reflection on eBay. We ask that eBay do the right thing and make a public press release stating that it will no longer allow animal hunts to be auctioned on its site.
