Join Deepak Chopra: Tell Presidential Candidates to Propose Real Global Warming Solutions!

It's about time American politicians stop paying lip service to global warming and start proposing real solutions!

Our 2008 presidential candidates will have to deal with the greatest environmental problem we have ever faced. As citizens of a country that is one of the world's biggest polluters, we must make sure that they don't just talk about it, but actually have a detailed plan for combating it.

An aggressive plan to combat global warming must include:
  • Imposing a cap on CO2 emissions across the country and sticking to it, without special rules for rich companies.
  • Increasing fuel efficiency standards dramatically for commuter vehicles as well as commercial trucks.
  • Cleaning up our current electric and other power plants.
  • Investing in alternative, cleaner energies such as wind power, and providing incentives for companies who develop and use these technologies.
Please join Deepak Chopra today in telling the 2008 presidential candidates to make solutions to global warming a top priority.

Dear presidential candidate,

I stand with Deepak Chopra in urging you to make global warming a priority for your campaign.

I want to know that you have a detailed and aggressive plan to combat global warming, and will follow through with this plan.

This plan must include, among other things:

  • Imposing a cap on CO2 emissions across the country and sticking to it, without special rules for rich companies.

  • Increasing fuel efficiency standards dramatically for commuter vehicles as well as commercial trucks.

  • Cleaning up our current electric and other power plants.

  • Investing in alternative, cleaner energies such as wind power, and providing incentives for companies who develop and use these technologies.
As citizens of a country that is one of the world's biggest polluters, we must step up now. If we don't, the consequences will be devastating.

Sincerely,

As the leader of the free world, America should also lead by example in caring for the world. Instead of being the largest polluter, we should be solving these important issues. They have been ignored far too long.

Climb out of your comfort zone provided by the taxpayer and step into the environment of your constituents. You would be jumping to make changes.

I would like to hear that they have a plan and they are not afraid of implementing it; that they are looking ahead because they realize we have to for this generation and for future generations.

It would be nice to hear, see, and know that my President is a person taking direct strong actions in saving the life of our Mother Earth and its lifeforms of all kinds. No speeches needed-what is needed is serious thought and actions in a do or die situation. There would not be floods if there was enough trees and green earth to drink the rainfall. Streets and concrete along with buildings and strip malls do not soak up the rains. A 4th grade kid could run our world better than these dopes can. Not just here in the USA, this is across the planet. A few good, conscious, AWAKE individuals that would do the SMART thing are defeated by a bunch of STUPID money hungry imbeciles. Why has this gone on so long? We once had leaders that we could respect and feel supported by-what the hell has happened? This global warming issue cannot be made better with a band-aid folks. Prevent the diaster before the point of no return is reached. Can you consider this please?

Every country on this earth needs to work together to keep our earth alive. How will you explain to your grandchildren why you had the chance to do something big to fight global warming and chose not to? People need to be informed - many do not even know that there are endlessly many things one can do - every little bit helps. Children need to be informed in schools how to help make a difference!

there won't be a place to spend all that money you make off of us, all your riches will be for nothing. if you can't do it for us do it for your self.
