Join Deepak Chopra: Tell Presidential Candidates to Propose Real Global Warming Solutions!
It's about time American politicians stop paying lip service to global warming and start proposing real solutions!
Our 2008 presidential candidates will have to deal with the greatest environmental problem we have ever faced. As citizens of a country that is one of the world's biggest polluters, we must make sure that they don't just talk about it, but actually have a detailed plan for combating it.
An aggressive plan to combat global warming must include:
Imposing a cap on CO2 emissions across the country and sticking to it, without special rules for rich companies.
Increasing fuel efficiency standards dramatically for commuter vehicles as well as commercial trucks.
Cleaning up our current electric and other power plants.
Investing in alternative, cleaner energies such as wind power, and providing incentives for companies who develop and use these technologies.
Please join Deepak Chopra today in telling the 2008 presidential candidates to make solutions to global warming a top priority.
We signed the “Join Deepak Chopra: Tell Presidential Candidates to Propose Real Global Warming Solutions!” petition!

Why is the Enviroment and climate change at the bottom of the things to worry about list? Without planet Earth we don't have to worry about the rest of it! We need a leader like Al Gore that is worried about our toxic planet!

We have heard every candidates "so called" commitment to global warming while they were trying to become top candidates, but as the world gets hotter, it seems the topic has grown cold. Things such as race and pastors speaking out on their personal views will no longer matter when the human race is struggling to adapt to a new world of natural (or man made) disaters. Please show us you care about our vote by telling us how you propose to solve this problem for our generation and the generations to come.

The insanity has got to stop!!! We have the power to heal our financial and ecological state if only we had the support from those in political power.

we could try and pass a law that in a certain amount of time everyone has to either get there cars converted or buy hybrid and/or hydrogen cars since the united states has only 20% of the worlds population and produces 25% of the worlds polution that is alot and taking cars off the road that produce these emitions would probably cut this in half

The fact that our air (even in California) so polluted and even toxic, is actually making us ill in many different ways. That actually adds to a health cost in US, and also will soon in China. Is it all intentional? Couldn't the money and energy spent on transportation goods from continent to continent and vice versa be spent productively?!

Please, PLEASE, hear the people when we ask for actions to help stop poluting the Earth. If we ruin our enmironment, we won't have to worry about our economy and the war.
Environmental concerns cannot be ignored!!!!!

We have to make this a top priority no matter how hard it is or unpopular. Please make sure oil companies are using the tax dolloars they get to go towards researching new energy sources and not in their pocket book. Please join the world in making and keeping strict emission controls for everyone even huge industry. We want strong leadership in this area so we as citizens can follow and save our planet.

As a leader not only politically and economically, but also in our contribution in pollution and greenhouse gasses, the US is obligated also to be a powerful leader in developing global warming solutions. I look forward to supporting real plans and real solutions that will instill a sense of confidence in our role as a global leader.
