Oppose New Nuclear Weapons Today
Target: U.S. SenateSponsored by: Union Of Concerned Scientists
The Bush administration has asked for $8.5 million in the 2006 budget for research on a "Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator" (RNEP). This new nuclear weapon, also known as the nuclear "bunker buster," is being promoted as a useful tool in attacking deeply buried command centers or underground stores of chemical and biological weapons. But numerous scientific critiques, including one by the National Academy of Science, find that in many cases such a weapon would be ineffective. In addition, the nuclear blast and radioactive fall-out could kill millions of innocent people in surrounding areas. A single "bunker buster" would be nearly 100 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb that destroyed Hiroshima.
In the coming weeks, the Senate will consider funding for this new nuclear weapon. Please tell your Senators to reject all funding for the dangerous nuclear "bunker buster."

Building up WEAPONS only instgates terror, and fear and anger. Allow me to tell you something...Here is my opinion as to why we so frequently have problems such as war involving the United States. A mans's perspective on negotiations with other countries: First option: Lets negotiate. Second Option: Well, they didn't go for that, let's threaten them! Thrid Option: Well, they didn't respond to threats, let's Start building up big weapons of mass destruction to intimidate them! Fourth Option: Well, they weren't scared of our weapons of intimidation, so LET'S BOMB THE BASTARDS into SUBMISSION!!!! Okay, woman's perspective: Option one: Let's negotiate! Option Two: Let's Negotiate! Option Three: Let's Negotiate! Option FOur: Let's Keep negotiating untill we can agree on our points mutually.There is no need for threats, or Bombing or war! We can certainly work this out to our mutual agreement. So, you see, if WOMEN had their way, NONE OF THIS MILITARY CRAP, would be necessary!!! SO STOP DOING ALL THIS USLESS BULKING UP ON BOMBS FOR fear inducing propaganda! It DOES NOT WORK! It's childish, playground logic! "You hit, me, I'm gonna hit you!" Nyaa Nyaa! Killing innocent people does not make ANYONE look good. So stop thinking it does!

Before we add more weapons of mass distrution maybe we should fix the starving children here in the United States, do you know that every night millions of children here in America go to bed hungry not becuse they were bad but because our work force is mainly making base pay, those of you who read this think that we are all over the 60 to 70 thousand dollar a year mark, you are so wrong. In the Bemidji Minnesota area, the average yearly wage is 20 to 30 thousand a year, I dare any of you to try and feed a family or pay medical bills on that income. Lets fix our government befor we think we have the right to try and fix anyone else.

Nuclear weapons are an abomination and their creation, even if they're not used, is immoral and shows a complete disregard for life. We (the U.S.) are right to fight nuclear proliferation and try to reduce the amount of nuclear material and weapons around the world. That is using our position as a leader to make Earth a better place. If we then start making more nuclear weapons, that will be complete hypocrisy and it will show our country to be dishonest and ignorant. That would be un-American and un-patriotic. Is that what you are? Then do what you know is right and strongly oppose any amount of funding for new nuclear weapons.
