Stop Senate Republicans From Stalling Efforts to Prevent Foreclosures

Target: U.S. Senate Republicans
Sponsored by: Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
Millions of Americans are losing their homes in the worst foreclosure crisis in recent memory, and the Bush Republicans in Washington are content to sit on their hands.

That's not good enough for the American people, so Democrats are doing everything we can to rush federal assistance to people devastated by the mortgage crisis.  But again, George Bush threatened to veto House legislation to provide immediate assistance to those in need.

You can help us show our opponents that the American people are serious about solving these problems.  Please sign our petition and join our efforts today.

Our economy is on the very brink of recession and foreclosure rates have nearly doubled in the last year. Over 2 million Americans are at risk of losing their homes and losing their grip on the American Dream. Yet Senate Republicans are doing nothing to address the foreclosure crisis.

These foreclosures hurt us all. They damage an already teetering economy in a downward spiral of falling home values and decreased tax bases, and they put our friends and neighbors out of their homes.

We can't afford to sit around and wait for these issues to sort themselves out. We, the undersigned, urge Senate Republicans to stop delaying the Democrats' efforts to prevent foreclosures.
We signed the “Stop Senate Republicans From Stalling Efforts to Prevent Foreclosures” petition!

YOu in the senate and the President need to take responsibility for helping this country out of the situation we are in. No supporting this means you do not care about the millions of americans who make our country what we are, people who are suffering are public servants, veterans, moms, dads, student, the poor, the middle class everyone except the rich!! Is that why you wouldn't support this???

How would you feel if your home was about to be foreclosed on? The end to an American dream. Not to mention the loss in tax base. Where do you think the money to make it up would come from? Those that still own homes! I can't afford a raise in taxes!

With the economy slipping & gas prices rising it's stupid to hurt working people further by foreclosing on their homes!

We never thought we'd live to see the day when over a quarter of the homes on our block would be in foreclosure. Something MUST be done ASAP!

Why are the people of our country so unimportant? War is more important than the lives of our citizens and the continued support of their government.

Since you are obviously bailing out the wealthy, who need it the least, and who caused the whole mess with their unprincipled and unrestrained greed, it might look better to help the little guys too. Unless you want, finally, to have that violent revolution. All greed. No sense. Nice job, dumbasses.
