Millions of Americans are losing their homes in the worst foreclosure crisis in recent memory, and the Bush Republicans in Washington are content to sit on their hands.
That's not good enough for the American people, so Democrats are doing everything we can to rush federal assistance to people devastated by the mortgage crisis. But again, George Bush threatened to veto House legislation to provide immediate assistance to those in need.

It is time you help the people and not the the large financial institutions. I find it unconscionable that the only people being help are the poepl that have money. I have friends that have had their interest rate raise and are receiving no help....for property they have owned for 25 years. Enough of helping the rich...it is time to help the everyday person!

Home foreclosures hurt not only those who lose their homes, it hurts all Americans by contracting the economy, which means less production, fewer jobs and less wealth for everyone. Having once lost a home in foreclosure I owned just before getting married because shortly afterwards my young husband got drafted before the home was put in both of our names, I know the heartbreak & the sense of displacement the millions who are facing this tragedy must feel. We all know that in most cases it was plain greed that brought about many of the loans made to uninfromed buyers. Part of the change in politics we need & need now is help for these families.
