Millions of Americans are losing their homes in the worst foreclosure crisis in recent memory, and the Bush Republicans in Washington are content to sit on their hands.
That's not good enough for the American people, so Democrats are doing everything we can to rush federal assistance to people devastated by the mortgage crisis. But again, George Bush threatened to veto House legislation to provide immediate assistance to those in need.
You can help us show our opponents that the American people are serious about solving these problems. Please sign our petition and join our efforts today.
We signed the “Stop Senate Republicans From Stalling Efforts to Prevent Foreclosures” petition!

Helping people stay in their homes is an important step to boosting the economy. Too many were trapped in subprime mortgage scams and caught when the housing bubble burst. To turn large numbers of people out on the street with no backup will push our country deeper into recession.

Even renters are being affected by this foreclosure crisis. The cost of apartment rent is zooming out of control due to demand. The news interviewed an intelligent middle-class woman who was living in her car due to foreclosure, and the eye-popping part of the story was that gated car-parks have been established in her area for the numerous people who are living in their cars, so they can be safe at night. This is not the American Dream!

Please show leadership and take action to help millions of families faced with foreclosure. For once, think about the average American instead of big business. PLEASE
