You can tell it's an election year in Michigan. Michigan's legislature is still wasting time and our taxpayer dollars on anti-women's health bills. Some state legislators are currently pushing through an unnecessary and wasteful bill, which would prohibit a certain type of abortion that was already banned by the ultra-conservative Supreme Court of the United States.
Michigan Senate Bill 776 prohibits a rarely used, yet medically necessary abortion method, but does not provide an exception to protect a woman's health. Furthermore, this medical method is already outlawed in Michigan and across the country.
Tell your representative and Speaker Dillon to work for progress in Michigan instead of continuing the wasteful and divisive antics that now define the Michigan legislature.
We took action on “Stop the Political Attack on Choice in Michigan!”!

I am writing to express my disapproval of SB 776. This bill is nothing more than political pandering to anti-choice forces in an election year.
SB 776 is an unnecessary, wasteful and politically-motivated bill that seeks to ban an abortion method that is already banned at the federal level.
In addition, this bill prohibits a rarely used, yet medically necessary abortion method and does not provide an exception to protect a woman's health. Furthermore, no matter what Michigan law says, this medical method is already outlawed here and across the country.
Please stop wasting taxpayer time and resources with political votes that hurt women.

Instead focus on the pressing issues facing the state. If you are truly committed to improving the lives of Michigan women, please work with women's health advocates and policy makers to promote a woman's ability to make informed and responsible health care decisions, prevent unintended pregnancies and strengthen families.
Please do not waste our tax dollars and time on an issue designed only to create divisiveness and gain personal political favor from anti-choice forces. Please do not hold purely political votes on a procedure already banned under federal law. Instead, turn your attention to real problems facing the state.

Why are you wasting tax money on this when it can be going somewhere like EDUCATION or ROADS or SOMETHING ELSE worthwhile? I do not agree with abortion at all, but this is just a waste of money to do God knows what while we are in the middle of trying to decide who will run for president. And why do you need to vote on such a bill when it is already been made into law by our federal government? Just another way the government seems to thinkwe as citizens are not paying attention. Well sir, you have this hard working single TAXPAYING seingle mom's attention! DON'T WASTE ANYMORE OF OUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS USELESS BILL!!

Stop interfering in women's lives. If all the men who caused the pregnancy were lined up, they'd stretch from here to Chicago? or Denver? or California?
Women in Michigan deserve health and life for themselves, and decisions about abortion is an important option; decisions made by woman and her doctor are the best ones. No legislative help/interference needed

Dear Mr. Dillon,
SB 766 works against the health and safety of women. Take the time to focus on ways you can make progress and not on ways you can punish. Do not waste time or political votes on this bill.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Rodgers, LMSW

Please tend to matters that are more pressing at the moment. As this has already been addressed, spending tax dollars to have people do this again and without taking larger health issues into consideration, I feel that this waste of time, money and effort should be made a major issue for next elections.
