Humans are not the only living being impacted by this devasation! At least Humans (with some exceptions, of course) are able to care for themselves. THEY have a choice about whether they evacuate. Animals do not have a choice about whether they evacuate. They don't have shelters to run to. They don't have the national guard running interference for them! Animals need to be considered in these disasters, just as much as people do, because animals have much less going for them, than people do and far fewer resources available to them! We must give a voice to those that cannot speak! |

Please don't let the horrible, preventable deaths of all the Katrina animal victims happen again! I am one of many who would NEVER abandon my animals. It is an outrage that this travesty is happening in my country! |

I couldn't leave my cats to suffer, it's just not right. Pets are so important to people's lives, they may lose everything but at least let people still hold on to what they love it may be what gets them through. It's protection of life, all life that is important. |
