Target:2008 Presidential Candidates Sponsored by:Pre-K Now
Access to high-quality pre-k shouldn't be about where a child lives or luck or family income. The proven and lasting benefits of quality pre-k should be available to all who want it.
Pre-k can raise academic achievement and graduation rates, reduce grade repetition and special education needs, and teach invaluable social skills and teamwork.
The presidential candidates must show leadership on this issue now by making pre-k a campaign priority. Ask the candidates what they will do to help all children start school ready to succeed.
We signed the “Start Early: Take a Stand on Pre-K” petition!

The first five years of a child's life are the most critical to future learning and development. The early schooling of a child is so important for his/her later development. My daughter should be allowed the same rights as any other child. Our Children are the future! Give them the right to learn, and they'll thank you in their own way. Dear Presidential Candidates, High quality pre-K programs are very important for children in many ways. I was denied access to pre-k simply because my parents made "too much" money, I could speak English (as my first language), and I was able to write my own name.

Dear Presidential Candidates,
High quality pre-K programs are very important for children in many ways. Pre-K raises academic achievement and graduation rates, reduces grade repetition and teaches important social skills and teamwork.
Every child should have access to high-quality pre-K. Please make federal support for state pre-K programs a top priority in your presidential agenda.
Sincerely,
Kat Crane

My daughter should be allowed the same rights as any other child. Just because I work extremely hard, have two jobs (full time/part time) save my money and pay my bills on time and don't live off the system is no reason why she should not have the same rights as other children. Becuase I am not sleeping all day and actually earning a living I am penalized for this. Maybe I should just quit working and live off the system and have three more children for everyone else to take care of and then I'll get some attention.

The early schooling of a child is so important for his/her later development. This should be available for everyone not only for a few. The future of our country is in the hands of the young, let us help them be good citizens and good leaders. Please make this a priority in your campaign it will definitely make a difference in the future.

The first five years of a child's life are the most critical to future learning and development. We must find the resources to enable this early learning. It's a matter of "pay me now or pay me later" and later the costs, financially and sociologically, will be much higher.
