Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) proposed legislation that would postpone meaningful action on global warming pollution for at least twenty years.
The Voinovich bill is dressed up as a way to take action, but in fact is a detailed prescription for doing nothing.
The proposal would take away state authority to control global warming pollution, undermining efforts in dozens of states, including California, Florida and the Northeast members of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which have set ambitious emissions reduction targets. And this is just the beginning.
We need to do everything we can to defeat Senator Voinovich's sham proposal. Email your Senators today.
We took action on “Don't Allow Global Warming Pollution to Increase for Decades”!

This proposal does next to nothing and does it too slowly. We need actual action, and if states are willing and able to move faster than the federal government on environmental issues, we should let them regulate those issues themselves.

It is time we took real responsibility. No more Bush-speak type legislation. We are at or past the tipping point and just beginning to fathom the consequences of our inability to shift away from a carbon dependent economy. Delaying real and immediate stringent changes would be catastrophic. Voinovich does not give us adequate legislation to address this emerging global crisis.

Global warming is a huge threat now; if we wait, we are pending our ultimate destruction. Think with your mind instead of your wallet and act NOW!

We need firm action to curb and prevent further drastic global climate change. I am going to live long enough to see the devastating effects if nothing significant is done. Don't leave this mess for the next generation.
