Reject President Bush's Anti-Choice Nominee, Robert Conrad

Do you remember Richard Honaker? He was President Bush's pick for a lifetime appointment to a federal district court who tried to outlaw abortion three times in Wyoming. Now, Bush is at it again! This time, he and his allies in the Senate are pushing for a new anti-choice nominee as judge on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals: Robert Conrad. Robert Conrad has called Planned Parenthood a "radical, pro-abortion fringe group" that "promotes a radical abortion agenda." What's more, from 1983 to 1986, Conrad served on the board of directors for a so-called "crisis pregnancy center" that provided medically inaccurate information about pregnancy, contraception and abortion. Clearly, he isn't fair-minded – and he doesn't deserves a lifetime appointment as a federal judge! Urge your senators to reject the nomination of Robert Conrad today.

I believe every child should be a wanted one. Planning for a child probably makes them more wanted. The best planning does not always work. Also, knowingly bringing a child who will not survive without all kinds of help is almost criminal. Loosing the mother of other children at any cost is not right either.

Please keep Mr. Robert Conrad's name out of the realm of "judgeship considerations". American women have fought long and hard to have achieved the legislative protections they currently enjoy and someone like Mr. Conrad does not understand what that "fight" has been all about. He, like many other politicians favoring the current administration, would take things back to the "Stone Age" in terms of women's rights, if they were given the opportunity. Let's all realize that this is 2008 and our judges should be a reflection of our greater society's evolved values, Constitutional wisdom and scientific knowledge.
